Rachel Castellanos
DVM
Dr. Rachel Castellanos grew up in Central Florida and Southern California. She graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Biological Sciences in 1995. She then graduated as a veterinarian from U.C. Davis in 2000. Before and during veterinary school, she worked as an emergency and intensive care technician at both VCA Animal Care Center of Sonoma County and the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital at U.C. Davis. Upon graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Castellanos returned to VCA Animal Care Center as an emergency and intensive care clinician, where she worked for 13 years. She recently transitioned to general day practice and joined VCA Westside Animal Hospital. Dr. Castellanos appreciates the compassionate, dedicated staff and the tremendous level of teamwork at VCA Westside.
Kenneth Hartley
DVM
Kenneth Hartley, D.V.M grew up in the Southern California town of Manhattan Beach. He attended California State University, Long Beach and graduated in 1970 with a bachelor's degree in Zoology. After graduating, he attended veterinary school at University of California, Davis. In 1975, he graduated and moved to Santa Rosa to work at Redwood Veterinary Clinic. In 1980, Dr. Hartley and Dr. Pritchard purchased Westside Veterinary Clinic and started their own practice. Ken enjoys the variety his profession brings on a day to day basis. His areas of interest are preventative wellness care, diagnostics, internal medicine, surgery, and avian/exotic medicine. The most rewarding part of his job is sharing a pet's life from birth through their senior years. When not working, he enjoys horseback riding, hiking, and spending time with his family!
